Apparently, we have a downhill slope from here according to The Security Watch Tower. Find an excerpt below:
U.S. Combat Deaths & Casualties
With American public opinion on the front lines of this war, U.S. casualties are viewed by the insurgency (and some western progressives) as the tool to force U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. Below are the KIA/Wounded statistics for U.S. soldiers in each time period.
1. The Rise - 30 KIA per month / 220 wounded per month
2. The Peak - 66 KIA per month / 882 wounded per month
3. The Decline - 57 KIA per month / 507 wounded per month
4. The Defeat - 53 KIA per month / 389 wounded per month
Iraqi Security Forces
Viewed by many as the most successful aspect of rebuilding Iraq, the security forces have been built from scratch over the last two years and have been increasing their operational capabilities and areas of control. Critical to the eventual withdrawal of U.S. and coalition forces from Iraq, the security forces continue to grow in size and have nearly met the goals laid out over a year ago in terms of personnel size, with no shortage of recruits. Currently there are more than 250,000 Iraqis serving in the army and police.
1. The Rise - 55,000
2. The Peak - 96,000
3. The Decline - 175,000
4. The Defeat - 235,000
I wonder what the new Liberal/Progressive/Socialist/Communist talking points will be now that things are demonstrably getting better?
